A Brass Band, Polka Dot Veil and 1950s Vintage Wedding Dress
by Love My Dress via Love My Dress Wedding BlogMorning! Had a good weekend? I do hope so. This morning's wedding should put a lovely smile on your face regardless. Jac and Jon tied the knot on Friday 19th April 2013 at The Assembly Rooms in Bath, Somerset, followed by a reception at Priston Mill, also in Somerset. I love this wedding for it's quirky, fun nature and that beautiful original A-line wedding dresses...
"I wore an original vintage wedding dress that I purchased from the Miss Vintage Wedding Affair in February 2012. I knew that I wanted a 1950's dress and Jon in a tweed suit. The rest really followed from there. We wanted it to look quite hand made and a bit quirky, and most of all to represent us as a couple. Our house is a mish-mash of stuff that we’ve collected over the years, and I suppose we wanted our wedding to be a bit of a mish mash too!
My veil was from Gibson Bespoke on Etsy, but I swapped the embellishment for a brooch from my Grandmother. I wanted a polka dot veil to match my bridesmaids."

"I tried the dress on originally because there was someone in the communal dressing room with a dress I really liked the look of, and wanted to get my hands on next. I ended up preferring the second choice, and bought it there and then, long before any other part of the wedding had been planned!
I love the v-back and the long sleeves with button detailing. I knew I wanted an A-line midi dress, so it was perfect, really! I got it slightly altered and a petticoat made at Chambers Bespoke Tailors." Read the full ...
